MG TD TF 1500 - Dash Trim
It was bent, broken, twisted and looked like it would never look nice again, now redone, it's back where it belongs, redone by Wells Bumper in Collinsville, Ok. Believe it or not, the instruments work perfectly, so their not getting touched at this time. After the car's on the road, I'll probably have them redone next Winter, I want to drive this thing! Looking good Paul. Mine came to me like this.

Fortunately all this crap was on the inside of the glass.

Cleaned up pretty well. The warning lights had been drilled out way oversize so I had to weld in some washers. So unfortunately I do not have the correct slots but it's not seen and it works.

I'm very pleased with the trim piece, he did a wonderful job of restoring it. Hard to believe, but the clock works also! Does it keep time correctly, I have no idea, but it works! If I had the pin tool for pulling the hands off the speedometer, I'd re paint them to match the tach, but it's not a priority at this point. To many other things more important. PJ |

Paul, Are you speaking of the thin, chromed, trim ring that goes around the entire instrument panel? Mine is in very bad shape (bent, broken). The PO cut and extended it to fit an aftermarket dash. Could you send me contact information of the bumper shop? I would greatly appreciate it. thanks, Tyler irwin51@yahoo.com |

Tyler, Here's Joe Wells of (Wells Bumpers)in Collinsville, Ok phone number, 918-371-2551 (bus) Cell, 918-693-3612. If that piece is so screwed up, you probably will have to ship the bare dash center with it for a pattern. PJ |

thanks Paul, I'm at wit's end about the chrome surround. Got my fingers crossed. I'm a little bit further along than what the photo shows.Just interior and dash remain. tyler ![]() |

Nice car! |

Paul, did Wells do the octagon trims also and was work done on the mounting tabs. Usually they break if bent more than a few times. Would you care to give a round number as to the cost to do this work. |

Paul - Re: Removing clock hands ... I took my speedo / clock to a clock shop to remove the clock hands. Only a few bucks. Use a small-cell foam brush to paint the hands. I used flat white on the indicator needles of all gauges and instruments. Lonnie TF7211 |

Tyler, It looks like we are running neck and neck getting the cars done. Yours is sure looking nice! I pick up my windshield glass this afternoon. Once the windshields in place, I can put the kick panels on, put the dash in and get all these wires and switches where they belong. F.Driver, The octagons are original, just cleaned up with mothers chrome polish. Lonnie, Thanks for the clock shop idea to get the hands off. PJ |

Position the clock hands at 12:00 when you replace them. Lonnie TF7211 |
