MG TD TF 1500 - Moss Catalog MGT-160

Has anyone else noticed that the latest Moss catalog does not have prices? I guess after you find what you need, you need to go to the web site to see how much it's going to cost.

Common across nearly all industries now a days. Companies don't want to waste time and $$$ altering and re-printing hard copy when prices are dynamic and fluid. Especially now with supply chain cost inflation and global tariff wars going on and increasing. It's an economic fallacy that consumers are not going to evenutally pay for them. So it is much much much less costly to companies to change a digital value in one site and have it automatically propogate across the company than have hard copy constantly out of date. May be inconvenient for the consumer but it's in the best financial interest of every for profit company.

Yes, I understand. I still want "service" stations to check the oil and top up the window washer. Anyway, after posting I saw in the inside of the front cover exactly the explanation you said. The paper catalog with its very good exploded views is still a great help in the shop so I'm ok with it.

Yes the "exploded" diagrams are a wonderful source of information!!

The new catalog also no longer has accessories, luggage, car care items, clothing. Jewelry, models, puzzles tin signs, yada yada …

Likely a result of all the trade war and tariff garbage going on. By the time you get the catalog, the price would be out of date.

I heard that Moss has sold a holding company. This could be also some of the reason they don't want to print prices, so they have the flexibility to change prices quickly and not be held to a catalog. I've also heard that they are now starting to not carry certain parts for the T-series. Parts that they don't feel move fast enough.

Usually when a holding company buys out a business, they pile a bunch of debt onto it from other holdings, then bankrupt it. I think Rimmer Bros bought out Moss. I fear Moss will be obliterated within the next several years with its acquisition. Al is probably shaking his head and hanging it low with slumped shoulders.

Radial Equity bought both. In my opinion, private equity only cares about profit and stock price. The demand for certain parts is so low, and cost to manufacture so high, many things will rapidly go away. Parts like crankshafts have been unobtainable for years. I haven't used a paper catalog for years, surprised they still make them. Prices- no way to lock in, as cost of a new batch of any part may be totally different than before, requiring retail price adjustment. George
